Pork roast has been in the slow cooker all day, cooking down some apples & onions to go on top of the pork.

and then at the end: pour juices from slow cooker into sauce pan, add heat, pour in a cup or so of cider, reduce, drizzle over food and serve. Noms.

I put some cider in the slow cooker to keep it moist.

I do work in a professional kitchen so this meal is rookie level.

My inner German loves what you’re cooking.

I also infused some beer in the apples & onions. It was fantastic.

It looks good there. I did something similar A while back.
If you (next time) put the apples and onions in the slow cooker you can make a most excellent gravy. put some of the cooked fruit veg and drippings in a blender then strain it. Use a rue/flour to thicken as needed. It’s really excellent. For even more decadence pull the pork and serve with gravy over biscuits.

The apple & onions where a last minute idea, so I just put them in a pan.

I smoke food all day at work, so I like doing different ways at home.

Nice. I get it. I Crock Pot just about everything and needed a change myself.

I crock pot because at home I’m lazy. Put in protein, some moisture, and set to low.

Perfect machine. I work 2nd shift and it’s nice to come home to a hot meal with the prep already taken care of.
